Judge Beating Daughter
The judge may have gone a little overboard but people have to put themselves in his position of frustration with a rebelling child. The sad thing here is that he was trying to correct her behavior and teach her there are rules that must be obeyed. She has now ruined his life and removed any chance of his teaching her to obey rules. She has also removed all chances of anyone correcting her behavior and has freed herself to to anything she wants when she wants and nobody can stop her. That is until she does something criminal and then she may find her punishment is a prison term. There she may be beaten over and over, raped, stabbed or worse killed. Someone needs to explain to me how being whipped with a belt is worse than prison. Which punishment is more abusive? My father exercised corporal punishment on me and I turned out fine and now that I'm 64 years old and see where my life has taken me, I thank him for every lash I received. I'm a better person for being taught to obey the rules of society. When you know what your punishment will be, fear of that punishment will in most cases keep you from doing the acts. If a person knows his/her punishment will be mild, that person will do the act and say it was worth the punishment. The press who run the story and society which is taking a condemning stand are responsible. If this girl turns out to be a bad apple, it is the press and society who are responsible not the father who tried to teach her through corporal punishment. Even Doctor Spock eventually recanted his opinion about no corporal punishment.
